Throughout this summer, Knowsley’s libraries are welcoming a host of inspirational authors for a series of free events.
On Friday 14th June, join Fiona McPhillips at Kirkby Library. Theaward-winning Irish journalist, author and screenwriter reads from her debut novel When We Were Silent which was runner-up for the 2021 Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger.

On Thursday 27th June Zoe Richards will be reading from her debut novel Garden of Her Heart – a novel about recovery, community and purpose – at Huyton Library. Zoë is an author and has written for national magazines for many years. She is also the host of the podcast, Write, Damn It!

Popular local author Ashleigh Nugent returns to Knowsley’s libraries to read from his debut novel Locks, a coming-of age story about identity, race and self discovery. Ashleigh is a s a writer, performer and director at RiseUp, where he uses his own life experience to support prisoners and inspire change. He is also a special advisor at the Shakespeare North Playhouse. You can see him at:

On Wednesday 17 July, join the ‘Queen of Feelgood Fiction’ Milly Johnson at Huyton Library. The bestselling and award-winning author of 21 romantic fiction novels will be reading from her latest novel The Happiest Ever After and answering questions from the audience.
