Readers rejoice! Knowsley’s libraries are hosting two special meet the author events this summer.
On Thursday 17 July, Halewood Library hosts an afternoon with talented local author Chris Jones. Chris will be discussing his new non-fiction book: The spy who helped the Soviets win Stalingrad and Kursk: Alexander Foote and the Lucy spy ring.
The book documents the life of Liverpool-born Alexander Foote, who went from being a volunteer in the International Brigade in Spain to becoming an agent of Soviet military intelligence in Switzerland. This event is a must for anyone who enjoys spy and war stories

On Wednesday 23 July, Huyton Library welcomes a trio of fantastic female writers. Here Come The Girls promises to be an evening of fun, laughter and chat with fabulously funny authors Milly Johnson, Jane Costello and Debbie Johnson.
Milly, Catherine and Debbie will share stories from their lives and talk about their writing, and what inspires them to create their popular feelgood romantic fiction. There will also be refreshments and a pamper tent at the library for the ultimate girl’s night out!
