The summer holidays are just around the corner and once again Knowsley’ libraries have put together a six-week programme of fun free activities to keep the kids busy, whatever the weather!
From crafts to storytelling sessions, Kirkby, Huyton, Halewood, Stockbridge Village and Prescot libraries have lots to see and do all summer long! Check out the flyers below for details of what’s happening in your local library!





Storytellers Robin Simpson and Susanna Meese return to Knowsley’s libraries, telling the much-loved family tale of Jack and the Beanstalk but with music, mayhem, shadow-puppet lanterns, and a magic chicken! Come and join in this fun, free adventure suitable for ages 4+
Robin and Susanna will be at:
Prescot Library on Tuesday 12 August, 11am – 12pm
Huyton Library on Tuesday 12 August, 2pm – 3pm
Kirkby Library on Wednesday 13 August, 11am – 12pm
Stockbridge Village Library on Wednesday 13 August, 2pm – 3pm
Halewood Library, Thursday 14 August 11am – 12pm
Kirkby Library is also playing host to a special exhibition from 11 – 30 August. The Gaming Together exhibition showcases the history of video games with retro consoles and arcade machines set up and ready to play. Also featuring artwork and artefacts that will take you on a journey through the history of gaming.
And right throughout the summer, children can take part in the Summer Reading Challenge where they can collect free activity packs, take part in nature-themed events, and borrow books — all designed to keep them curious, active, and engaged with reading over the summer holidays.
