A brand new art trail has been launched across six parks in Halewood, designed to connect communities with nature and explore local green spaces. Commissioned by Knowsley Council and created by cultural organisation Heart of Glass, with funding by UK Government.
The trail features unique cast metal plaques in each park, showcasing artwork developed by artist duo Juneau Projects in collaboration with local residents, community groups, partners, and friends of the park. Throughout 2024, the artists worked with the community to learn about and create artwork that explores local and native species, as well as the effects of climate and environmental issues. The project celebrates the beauty of nature and gives each park its own distinct identity.

The six parks included in the trail are Halewood Triangle, Hilton Grace, Court Farm Woods, Goddard Green, Finch Woods, and Frensham Park.
Cllr Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, participated in the creation of the artwork and commented, “This project has given new residents to Halewood an opportunity to explore and be involved in their local community and explore the wonderful parks we have on our doorsteps.

“This trail adds to the beautiful artwork we have had in Halewood in recent years, which includes the Owl and Pussycat trail and ‘Following the Roots’ art trail in Halewood Triangle. We are developing more fabulous projects which will add to this creative environment in our local area.”
Angharad Williams, Head of Creative People and Places at Heart of Glass, says: “This project has been a wonderful celebration of the creativity of Halewood residents and the beauty of our green spaces. The art trail, created by our community, really shows how collaboration can bring people together in such a powerful way. It’s been a great way to learn more about the nature right on our doorsteps and how we can connect with it. It’s always a pleasure working with Juneau Projects and the team at Halewood. They bring so much care and generosity to everything they do, making every project feel extra special.”
The art trail encourages residents and visitors to explore the interconnected parks and discover the natural wonders within. Each plaque features a QR code providing further information about the project and the featured flora and fauna.
