May is Local and Community History Month, and Knowsley Archives Service is celebrating our communities with exhibitions and events in your local library.
We’ve kicked things off with our new exhibition, ‘Knowing Your Knowsley’ which is open until 29 May 2026. Come along to The ARK at Kirkby Library to see gems from the Archive representing Cronton, Halewood, Kirkby, Prescot, Stockbridge Village, Tarbock and Whiston, and head over to Huyton Library for a special selection focusing on Huyton and Roby.
We are also coming to a library near you with a series of free talks and events that you can get involved with:
- Thursday 14 May, 10.30 at Prescot Library
The Archives Service presents a talk on the rich history of Prescot and Whiston, as revealed by the archive collections
- Friday 15 May, 10:30am at Stockbridge Village Library
Join us for a wander down memory lane as we share our stories and memories of Stockbridge Village in a relaxing reminiscence session in the library
- Monday 18 May 2026, 2:30pm Halewood Library
Join us for an afternoon of Halewood memories as we reminisce with stories and reconnect with our shared past
