Knowsley Council is excited to announce a brand new event in the 2025 Knowsley Festival line-up. KMF Presents: The Young Ones is a youth music showcase which is dedicated to spotlighting some of the best emerging artists from across the Liverpool City Region.
This special event will take place on Friday 28 November at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park. The line-up features an impressive roster of seven up-and-coming bands and artists from the Liverpool City Region, programmed by one of Knowsley’s own young producers, Sonny Price.
Set to take the stage are:
- Foamover
- The Balla
- This Twin Band
- Sophie Li
- Abi Rose Kelly
- John Riley and the Antidote
Headlining the inaugural event will be Casino, a band familiar to Knowsley Music Festival audiences, having previously played the festival as a support act for both The Christians and The Lightning Seeds. Their return to top the bill is a testament to the festival’s commitment to nurturing local talent.
The introduction of KMF Presents: The Young Ones expands on the successful Knowsley Music Festival, which was launched in 2022 as part of Knowsley’s year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture. The festival has previously hosted musical greats like China Crisis, The Real Thing, Craig Charles, John Power, and Space and this year the main festival roster features, Paul Young, Chic Le Freak and She Drew the Gun

Speaking about the showcase, Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, emphasised the importance of cultural development for young people, saying:
“The Liverpool City Region is famous worldwide for its musical heritage, and it’s vital that we continue to create platforms for the next generation of artists. “KMF Presents: The Young Ones is all about providing tangible opportunities for young musicians from across the city region to develop their craft, gain performance experience, and connect with new audiences.
“It’s part of our wider commitment to embedding culture at the heart of our community and ensuring everyone can benefit from our vibrant cultural offerings.”
In addition to the main festival programme, the popular Knowsley Fringe Music Festival will also return this year, running from 1 to 14 November. This initiative offers local bands, artists, and venues the chance to apply for funding to put on their own gigs as part of the broader festival celebration, further diversifying the music on offer throughout the borough.
