This summer, Kindling Farm in Tarbock Green is hosting a programme of heritage and environmental events which encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with nature, wildlife and our food production system.
Kindling Farm is a community owned farm whose aim is to create a fairer and more sustainable food and farming system for all. Across 78 acres of land, the Kindling team are working to establish a pioneering
agroforestry farm for the Northwest to research, explore, practise and demonstrate the best ways to farm for wildlife, climate change, soil and communities.
Kicking off the school holidays, you’re invited to join them for Big Butterfly Saturday on Saturday 26th July. Book for the 1pm or 3pm time slot for an afternoon of FREE family friendly activities to coincide with the Butterfly Conservation’s 2025 Big Butterfly Count.

Calling all 5-12 year olds! Spend the day outdoors exploring, den building and cooking over a fire at our Forest School Holiday Club on Wednesday 13th August from 9am – 3.30pm. Led by Ali, Forest School leader with 15+ years of experience. Cost £35 per child.

On Saturday 16th August the farm gates open for Kindling Farm’s Open Day. Take a tour of the fields, meet the volunteer growers and check out their plans to restore the farm! Visit in the morning from 10.30am or in the afternoon from 1.30pm.
