This weekend the Knowsley Flower Show returns to Court Hey Park, and in Knowsley’s 50th year, it promises to be a very special day of celebration!
On Sunday 4 August the Floral Pavilion returns to the Courtyard at Court Hey Park, where local growers and makers will showcase their very best blooms, veg, jams, bakes, crafts and more for a chance to win a prize! There’s still plenty of time left to enter and you can find a full list of the classes for this year’s show here:
What’s on?
The Flower Show is not just about flowers, the whole park will come alive with music, performance and activities to occupy the whole family!
Activity for All return to the festival with their inflatable assault course. For just £7 children can get a wristband that gives them access to the course for the whole day.
Families can encounter Birds of Prey and speak with Beekeeper Andrea Ku in the Forget-Me-Not Garden, and on the Pavilion, children can enjoy face painting and the amazing ‘Poppins Presents Bubbles’, an interactive bubble show for all ages.
Join in with some Circus Skills in the Buttermere Triangle or head to the Gladstone Main Arena for performances by West Lancs Dog Display Team and Kuk Sool Woon Martial Arts as well as some traditional Hindu dancing.
There are also lots of amazing vendors at the show, selling everything from plants, and garden ornaments to jewellery and handmade cosmetics.
Additionally, to mark Knowsley’s 50th Anniversary, the Jubilee Craftivists have created a wonderful knitted and crocheted floral display with help from residents across the borough, which will be unveiled at the Flower Show. The Craftivists are a volunteer group based at Jubilee Park in Huyton who support people with anxiety, reduce social isolation and encourage people to enjoy the nature of the park by taking up a new hobby of crocheting, knitting or gardening projects.
Food & Drink
Throughout the park there will be a number of food and drink outlets offering a huge range of meals, snacks and treats to suit all tastes. So, whether you fancy Fish & Chips, Halloumi Fries or some authentic Italian gelato, you won’t go hungry.
You can also bring your own picnic to the show, but please be aware that alcohol is not permitted on site.
