Knowsley Library Service and Liverpool City Region based literary arts organisation, Read Now Write Now, are delivering free creative writing courses across Knowsley for adult beginners thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
People who join the courses will take part in six week creative writing workshops led by author Charlie Lea who will guide them on how to write a short story which can be included in a published anthology as well as read out at special storytelling events including at Shakespeare North Playhouse.
Read Now Write Now was established in 2015 by Charlie Lea FRSA. It runs children’s and adult creative writing courses throughout the northwest of England as well as other literary projects.
The creative writing courses will take place at:
Kirkby Library, Tuesdays 1pm to 2.30pm from 12th May for 6 weeks
Huyton Library, Wednesdays 10.15am to 11.45am from 13th May for 6 weeks
Prescot Library, Wednesdays 1pm to 2.30pm from 13th May for 6 weeks
Online, Wednesdays 7pm to 8.30pm from 13th May for 6 weeks
Halewood Library, Thursdays 10.15am to 11.45am from 14th May for 6 weeks.
Charlie Lea says, “we are delighted to have received funding to deliver these free writing courses for adult beginners in Knowsley and look forward to helping them gain the creative skills and experience to begin their very own writing journey. Knowsley is already blessed with many famous authors and playwrights and I would absolutely love to see everyone taking part become famous writers themselves.”
