A ten-day programme of community and cultural events begins this Friday (23 June) across Halewood.
Halewood CultureFest launched in 2008 with the aim of encouraging local residents to try new activities, provide an opportunity for local groups to showcase their activities and attract new members, and to bring the local community together
The CultureFest committee is made up of representatives from Halewood Town Council, Knowsley Council, local churches and local community members. The festival offers an exciting programme, ranging from cultural, artistic, environmental, and sporting events for communities from across Knowsley to enjoy.
This year’s event programme is designed with everyone in mind and includes cricket matches, singing groups and theatre performances plus an Art, Craft and Flower Exhibition, a Bat Walk, an Open Garden Day and more.
Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council said “CultureFest is a much-loved local event and it’s great to see it back again with an imaginative and diverse programme. Bringing communities together for events such as this is so very important, and I would encourage everyone to get involved and check out at least one event during the festival.”
Alison Shacklady. CultureFest steering group co-ordinator said. “We are delighted to be back for another year with our CultureFest programme. As always, we are providing as many events as possible at no charge, so that anyone who wants to be involved can be.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people to the events and hope that you will find there really is something for everyone. We are grateful for the on-going support of the Town and Borough Councils.”
