Hot on the heels of the biggest ever Knowsley Open Art Exhibition comes the biggest ever Open Art Auction. Almost 200 individual artworks are going under the hammer at a special event on Wednesday 26 July.
The 20th Knowsley Open Art Exhibition opened its doors to visitors in April with almost 350 artworks – the biggest display in the show’s history – created by artists who live, work, volunteer or study in Knowsley.
Now, art lovers will be able to get their hands on a selection of the works at this special auction with the proceeds going to the Friends of Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum, a local not for profit charitable organisation, to fund a variety of their community and educational projects.
Professional auctioneer and TV star Adam Partridge (Bargain Hunt, Flog It!) will be in charge of proceedings on the evening, overseeing the sale of 163 works of art from the Open Art Exhibition plus an additional 22 artworks that have been generously donated by professional artists that have exhibited at Kirkby Gallery and have become friends and supporters.
The Open Art Auction is a ticketed event, to book your place and register to bid – email galleries@knowsley.gov.uk for a bidder registration form. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend but would like to bid, you can register an absentee bid by emailing galleries@knowsley.gov.uk. Deadline for registering an absentee bid or being a bidder on the evening, is Friday 21 July.
