Artists Carrie Recihardt and Claire Eddleston have been working with hundreds of residents from across the borough since March 2024, to collect untold stories and memories of inspiring women past and present, as part of Strong Women of Knowsley a project by Heart of Glass. These stories include those of women who have personally touched their lives. Community members have turned these stories into art, creating 540 ceramic tile hearts, each dedicated to a strong woman who inspires them.
On Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 July, these unique tiles will be brought together to create a beautiful mosaic mural and the artists would like to invite people from the community to be part of the process of creating the finished artwork.
The workshops take place at Centre 63 in Kirkby, you are invited to drop-in for as long as you like to help Carrie and Claire realise the next stage of the project. Everyone is welcome and no previous art or ceramics experience is required.
The sessions are on Monday 15th July from 10.30am and Tuesday 16th July from 10.30am.
Centre 63 is located at Old Hall Ln, Kirkby, Liverpool L32 5TH
