New Dawn Light Spectacular
Almost 1000 golden ticket ballot winners braved the weather to experience the enchanting New Dawn Light Spectacular at Knowsley Hall - the climax of Knowsley’s New Dawn programme which has opened its year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture.
Despite major storms, which led to the unavoidable cancellation of Friday night’s performances, the event was able to go ahead as planned on Saturday (19 Feb).
As soon as visitors arrived, they were greeted by an impressive after-dark illuminated pathway leading them to the Hall itself. Here fire dancers performed to the beautiful sounds of harp music, building anticipation for the main event.
Guests were then treated to a spectacular projection by artists Illuminos which transformed the Hall into a pop-up storybook telling the stories of the Borough. The specially created artwork was also accompanied by a bespoke soundtrack created by award winning composer Patrick Dineen.
More than 4000 people had entered the ballot for tickets for this special event and feedback from those lucky enough to attend was that it was ‘stunning.’
