‘Make Mine Manga’ is a free exhibition at Huyton Library for anyone curious to discover more about Manga comics or graphic novels originating from Japan.
The exhibition has been specially created by Paul Gravett; the curator of comic exhibitions across the UK including the British Museum and the Barbican Centre and the author of numerous books about comics and their creators, including ‘Manga: 60 Years Of Japanese Comics’.
Visitors to the library can explore the origins of Manga and the creative techniques behind the art as well as discovering the wonder of Manga-Anime.
The exhibition features artwork by incredible creators from Japan and visitors can discover work from today’s generation of award-winning British talents making Manga in their own way as part of a truly global comic language.
Manga have become a pop-culture phenomenon in the UK. Six of the top ten bestselling graphic novelists in Britain are Japanese Manga authors.
The Make Mine Manga exhibition is at Huyton Library now and is on until Saturday 30th March.
The library is open Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm
