Autumn has arrived at Kindling Farm, a community owned farm in Tarbock Green, whose aim is to create a fairer and more sustainable food and farming system for all.
Over the coming months, the farm will be running an array of seasonal-themed events at the farm giving families the opportunity to explore nature and learn more about farming.
Friday 3 October: They are inviting all the family to join them at dusk when they will be venturing into the fields for a Bat Walk! Join in from 6pm for hot chocolate in the barn.
Saturday 4 October: Celebrate World Fungus Day when they will be joined by the North West Fungus Group for a guided fungus ID walk. You won’t be foraging the fungi you find, it will be left for nature to do its work, but you will be clued up on how to spot fungi in the wild.

Saturday 18 October: Learn how to make the most of your harvest in a day of demos and workshops exploring heritage techniques for preserving seasonal flavours.

Saturday 15th November: As we fall into November why not try your hand at metal detecting with the hugely successful South Lancs & Cheshire Metal Detecting Club. Beginners welcome at this workshop. What treasures will you find beneath the fields?!
Saturday 6th December: Starting to plan next years harvest? Develop the skills and confidence to give composting a go in a workshop with Minna Alanko-Falola of Compost Works.
Saturday 13th December: Celebrate of year of heritage at the inaugural Kindling Farm Christmas Fair! A day of heritage crafts, mulled wine and Kindling treats for sale.
