Award winning ‘As You Write It’ performances

During lockdown, The Shakespeare North Playhouse ran a national young person’s playwrighting competition with the BBC’s The One Show. More than 1300 children and young people aged 7 to 16 years old submitted their ideas for a play and after rigorous shortlisting three winners were finally announced on The One Show in June 2021.

These young people have since then been working with the team at The Playhouse to develop their ideas and bring them to the stage. During the opening season, the Playhouse will host the exclusive award-winning performances.
